In 2006, JCB wanted to showcase the extreme performance capabilities of their diesel engine by creating a vehicle to break the world land speed record. There were two engines with a total power output of 1,500 bhp used to set the new world record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA. They called their creation the JCB Dieselmax, which broke the world record achieving a land speed pf 350.92 mph. The development of the engine has resulted in engineering learning to help ensure JCB engines remain at the top of performance and technology.

JCB manufactures equipment in Savannah, Georgia for the North American market. However, a good deal of the components that make up a JCB come from suppliers who are located in the UK or Europe.p>
